On a Sunny San Diego afternoon in January 2001, I registered the name Stylustap.com for my new endeavor —making PalmOS apps for handheld devices.

Back at the turn of the century, handheld devices were all the rage. All apps used a stylus to or a tap enter information or get a result from touch screens. So that’s how I came up with the name.

I purchased a palmOS web environment where I could make simple flat file database apps. I created the popular selling All Access Passcode Manager that got me a mention in a German Magazine for two years. I enjoyed getting payment notifications almost every day for a while there. So I came up with a few more titles, but none were as popular.

After WebOS was introduced, the platform I used to make apps didn’t support new new system and I had to stop eventually as users dwindled and moved on to the new handheld operating standards. But it was quite a ride.

When COVID hit in 2020, the economic struggle was hard and by accident I let this renewal laps and lost it. I had this domain for over 20 years as part of my online real-estate asset. It came as a shock when I realized it was gone. Although I would never had sold it, it still stings that someone else owns it. Who would ever thought that something I did to earn a few extra bucks would be so precious in my heart.
